Third congress on the Eph/ephrin system

June 1 and 2, 2022. Montreal, Canada

Dear colleagues:
after two successful meetings in Parma, Italy, the Congress on the EPH/ephrins System is moving to Montreal, Canada, for its 3rd biannual meeting from June 1 to 2, 2022.

This Congress was originally scheduled for June 1 and 2, 2020. Many of you have already registered for the meeting. Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, we have a long intermission (exactly two years) before we can reschedule it for June 1 and 2, 2022. We are sure you are all eager to come to Montreal to exchange the new findings in your research and to meet your friends and colleagues, old and new.

So, mark your calendar.

We are working on the new hotel contracts. Once they are finalized, we will reopen the “Accommodation” page.

For those who have already registered, you do not need to do anything now but stay tuned to our newsletters which will give you updates about the meeting.
From now on until April 15, 2022, we invite you to submit abstracts for the Congress. At the end of the abstract, please add a note whether you prefer podium or board presentation. If you submitted an abstract previously and plan to submit a revised one, please do so, also before April 15. Please submit your abstract by email to the Congress secretary Ms. Élodie Kodjo (

We sincerely hope that all of you can come to Montreal in person. However, some of you are still facing travel restrictions in your region with mandatory long quarantine time. Some of you are still concerned about traveling. If you are in one of such situations and cannot come, we will accommodate you with Zoom attendance. If you plan to present your findings via Zoom, please indicate it at the end of your abstract. If you already have submitted an abstract but intend to present it via Zoom, please advise us by sending an email to Ms. Elodie Kodjo (

The Congress registration site is currently closed, but it will be reopened between April 15 and June 1, 2022, for new in-person or Zoom registration. The rate of in-person attendance will be $325 US, and Zoom attendance, $80. Trainees will get a $60 discount for the in-person registration.

For those who have registered but cannot come, please send your refund request (minus a $60 processing fee) before April 15 by sending an email to Ms. Élodie Kodjo ( You can also opt to exchange for a Zoom attendance, and we will refund you for the difference without deducting the processing fee. Please also send such an exchange request before April 15. After April 15, 2022, no refund or exchange requests will be accepted, but you can always transfer your registration to your colleagues. All the financial transactions related to refund and exchange will be processed in the first week of June 2022, and you can expect to receive the reimbursement before June 20, 2022.

All in all, after the long intermission, the show will be on, and we are looking forward to meeting you in Montreal in June. The weather then will be very nice. Stay a few days more before or after the Congress to have a taste of freedom and spring.

The research on EPH/EFN started from the central nervous system and then spread to almost all other systems in biology. Currently, more than 500 labs in the world are studying different aspects of the EPH/EFN molecules. Like the first two meetings, this 3rd Congress will provide a platform for Eph/EFN researchers to exchange the latest information in the field, get inspiration from unexpected findings by colleagues, and establish collaboration all around the world.

Montreal has two major universities, the University of Montreal and the McGill University, each having its own brand-new affiliated super hospitals, both of which were constructed in the recent 1-2 years. CHUM is the one affiliated to the University of Montreal (CHUM stands for Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal). The Congress will be held in the modern conference facility of the CHUM Research Center. The auditorium has a capacity of 220 seats, and the adjacent spacious agora is available for poster sessions, meals, and coffee breaks.

Montreal is the second-largest French-speaking city in the world, after Paris. It has the charm of France mixed with a modern North American flavor. June is one of the most beautiful months to explore the history, culture, and scenery of Montreal.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we extend our warm welcome to all the EPH/EFN researchers around the world to the 3rd Congress on the EPH/ephrins System. Come to explore EPH/ephrins, and come to explore Montreal in 2022! See you in Montreal.
